Luncheon with Gareth C.C. Chang
Apr 26, 2007

SABA's 1st event of the year - Lunar New Year Celebration Dinner 2007, opened with "The Spring Collection Fashion Show" by NoraHaron Shoes and LanVie Fine Asian Clothing, featuring Nora's East-meet-West designs, and shoes made to provide her with comfort and feels sexy; and Cai's unique apparel designed with Asian Style and Flair.

The event was graced by Queen Jennifer Field, Miss Asian America 2006/2007, courtesy of Rose Chung, Owner of Miss Asian America Pageant. Queen Jennifer Field was one of the models for the Fashion Show, as well as the distinguished Judge for the "Silicon Valley Student Talent Show 2007". The student participants from UC Berkeley, Stanford and NUSEA presented popular English and Mandarin ballads. The team from Stanford won the show with their version of "More than Words".

The dinner had drawn a crowd of 450 guests and among that was one lucky man - David who won the top prize worth more than $700 in the Raffle draw. The prize included a pair of NoraHaron Shoe, a dress from LanVie and a bag from Fleurville. A perfect belated Valentine's present for his Valentine!

Other lucky winners brought home prizes which included voucher for 1 night stay at Hyatt Regency San Francisco Airport worth $219, Hampers from Khong Guan USA Inc., and Prince of Peace Enterprises and many more.

For the 1st time in Bay Area History Singaporeans and Friends of Singaporeans got together in such great numbers to celebrate the Lunar New Year. The event was reported by SingTao Chinese News and Radio the following day. For those who want to remember the joyous moments while our guests enjoyed themselves tossing the "Fa Cai Yu Sheng" to bring more prosperity & wealth, we have for you a special MP3 recording by the radio station.

Last but not least, the kind sponsorship of Singapore International Foundation, Prince of Peace Enterprises, Khong Guan USA Inc., Tai Seng Entertainment, Hyatt Regency San Francisco Airport and Old Town Cafe.

Thank you for supporting our event and giving SABA the honor to create such fond memories with you. We look forward to the next occasion when we meet again and from the board of SABA, we wish all members "Gung Hay Fat Choi! And a wonderful year of the Golden Pig!" -SABA
